The Harris Organic Wines winemaker Duncan Harris loves making different styles of fine Harris Organic wine. From organic white wines to full bodied easy drinking organic dry red wines. He has made every different style of natural wine over the past 25 years.

Every year he makes our ever popular shiraz, made in a traditional style where the resulting wine is soft and smooth, made with care and without fining and filtering.

Our good organic red wines are sealed with cork, a natural product, an organic wine that is good for you and the environment.

Duncan Harris started making organic wines in Perth at his Swan Valley winery from Swan valley grapes in 1994 with a fellow winemaker.

The first organic wine was a preservative free shiraz natural sweet wine, followed by a fortified muscat liqueur wine. In February 1999 Duncan started the first vintage at his new Swan Valley winery in Memorial Avenue, Baskerville. The grapes were crushed on the day of the elipse.

The first natural wines for the organic wines list were chenin blanc and organic shiraz winning bronze medals at the Swan Valley wineshow in the year 2000.

Organic Red Wine List

Organic Red Wines

Our good organic red wine list consists of shiraz and malbec. Our carefully tended non irrigated organic shiraz and organic malbec are hand-picked and basket pressed, and aged in French oak for 20 months. Our shiraz has a palate of excellent smoothness and berry flavours.

Our organic red wine has been awarded a Bronze Medal at the Swan Valley Wine Show for many years.

All our fine organic red wines are certified organic by "Southern Cross" certifier. Our latest organic red wine release is the 2017 Organic Shiraz an organic red wine.

Organic White Wines

Our organic white wine list consists of verdelho, organic chardonnay and chenin blanc. Harris Organic Wines has a fine collection of our best organic white wines including organic chenin blanc, organic chardonnay wines and organic verdehlo.

These are all low-preservative organic wine styles. All our best organic white wines are fermented, matured, bottled and labelled on the premises and certified organic.

These organic white wines are flavoursome, well rounded on the palate and have a long finish showing perfect balance between fruit and acid level. See our organic white wine list at our cellar door or the organic online wine shop.

Fortified Sweet Wines

From the only organic brandy distiller in Australia are the only SXC certified organic fortified sweet wines. We carefully distill our organic brandies over a wood-fired pot still.

The brandy alcoholic spirit is used to arrest the fermentation of the grape must to produce a sweet fortified wine.

Try our awarded brandy fortified organic liqueur shiraz, organic verdelho, Pedro Ximenez sherry or sweet muscadelle, which are aged for a minimum of five years in our underground cellar.

These sweet wines are all available from our online wine shop.

We are very happy with our progress, celebrating 25 years of cellar door operations in 2023.

Organic Sparkling Wines

We also make traditional method vintage brut organic sparkling wines from Chardonnay and Shiraz. Traditional method means the wine is fermented in its bottle before it is hand-disgorged. These wines are stored in the underground cellar for many years to develop their fine bead and exquisite mousse.

Named after my daughter Madeleine Claire, there is a blanc de blanc version which has a fine dry finish and a sparkling red wine made from shiraz, both certified organic by "Southern Cross".

The current blanc de blanc vintage is 2017. The 2016 organic sparking red wine has been released. Only available to wine club members.

Swan Valley Distillery Trail - Perth

Swan Valley Wineries

There are many Swan Valley wineries and wine businesses. Some grow grapes and make their own wine. There are also wineries that grow grapes and dont make wine. The wine is made under contract at other wineries. At Harris Organic, we grow th grapes, make the wine, bottle the wine and label the wine, on the premises.

Baskerville Wineries

There are quite a few wineries in Baskerville. Baskerville is one of the Swan Valley localities. It stretches from the Swan River to the hills called the scarp. One Baskerville winery is Harris Organic Wines, sometimes called Harris Winery.

Disabled Access - Swan Valley Cellar Door:

There is a disabled access toilet available behind our Swan Valley cellar door.
Disabled access to the Cellar Door & the Oak tree lawn is also available.
The underground cellar has disabled access with staff assistance only.
